ROSIE'S RAINBOW SENIOR DOG SANCTUARY
Foster Care Agreement
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Agreement is to provide temporary foster care for animals owned by Rosie's Rainbow Senior Dog Sanctuary while they await adoption, hospice care, medical treatment, or permanent placement.
2. Ownership
The Foster Parent acknowledges that all animals placed in foster care remain the sole property of Rosie's Rainbow Senior Dog Sanctuary.
The Foster Parent shall not:

Sell, give away, transfer, abandon, or surrender the animal to another person, shelter, or rescue.

Authorize euthanasia without prior written approval from the Rescue except in a documented emergency where immediate veterinary action is required to prevent suffering.
3. Foster Care Responsibilities
The Foster Parent agrees to:

Provide safe, humane, and loving care.

Provide adequate food, water, shelter, exercise, and companionship.

Keep the animal indoors except when safely supervised.

Use appropriate collars, harnesses, leashes, and containment.

Immediately notify the Rescue of any illness, injury, behavioral concerns, or emergencies.

Comply with all local animal laws and ordinances.

Check in often with Rosies Rainbow and give updates as to how the fostering is going
4. Veterinary Care
Rosie's Rainbow Senior Dog Sanctuary will be responsible for approved veterinary expenses.
The Foster Parent agrees:

To seek veterinary treatment only through veterinarians approved by the Rescue unless it is an emergency.

Not to authorize non-emergency treatment at Rescue expense without prior approval.

To notify the Rescue immediately in the event of illness or injury.
In a life-threatening emergency, the Foster Parent may seek immediate veterinary care and shall contact the Rescue as soon as possible.
5. Medications and Special Care
The Foster Parent agrees to administer medications and follow treatment plans as directed by the Rescue.

6. Adoption Inquiries
The Foster Parent agrees that all adoption inquiries, applications, and placement decisions are the sole responsibility of the Rescue.
The Foster Parent may provide information about the animal's personality and needs but may not promise placement to any individual.
7. Foster Home Standards
The Foster Parent agrees:

Not to leave the animal unattended for unreasonable periods.

To provide secure fencing or leash control.

To prevent the animal from roaming freely.

To supervise interactions with children and other animals.
8. Lost Animal
If the animal becomes lost, stolen, or escapes, the Foster Parent agrees to:

Notify the Rescue immediately.

Contact local animal control agencies and shelters.

Make reasonable efforts to recover the animal.
9. Liability Release
The Foster Parent understands that animals may be unpredictable and assumes all risks associated with fostering.
The Foster Parent agrees to release and hold harmless Rosie's Rainbow Senior Dog Sanctuary, its officers, directors, volunteers, and representatives from any claims, damages, injuries, costs, or liabilities arising from participation in the foster program.
10. Indemnification
The Foster Parent agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rosie's Rainbow Senior Dog Sanctuary from claims or damages arising from the actions of the foster animal while in the Foster Parent's care.
11. Return of Animal
The Rescue may request the return of the animal at any time.
The Foster Parent agrees to return the animal within ______ hours of request unless otherwise agreed upon.
The Foster Parent may request to end fostering by providing reasonable notice to the Rescue.
12. Photographs and Social Media
The Foster Parent grants permission for photos, videos, and updates of the foster animal to be used by Rosie's Rainbow Senior Dog Sanctuary for promotional, educational, and fundraising purposes.
13. No Employment Relationship
The Foster Parent understands that fostering is voluntary and does not create an employment, agency, or compensation relationship with the Rescue.
